How to Use

Apply generously (at least two finger lengths) to face, neck and chest as the final step in your AM routine. Apply at least 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 2 hours or as needed throughout the day (more frequently if swimming or sweating). Use daily, rain or shine.

If prone to pilling, keep prior layers light, let each product absorb before applying SPF and apply with a makeup sponge instead of fingers to minimize friction.

What skin types is Barefaced SPF best for?

This sunscreen is ideal for normal, combination, and sensitive skin types. Because it’s mineral-based and free of fragrance, it’s gentle enough for post-procedure or reactive skin.

If you’re oily, it can double as your primer; if you’re dry, apply over a lightweight moisturizer for smoother blending.
Can I wear SPF with makeup?

Absolutely. It layers beautifully under foundation or tinted moisturizer and also gives a polished, even finish on its own.

If you’re wearing makeup, reapply with a powder or spray SPF to maintain protection throughout the day.

Is it safe to use in the eye area?
Hi Ashley! Thank you for your question. Yes! The Sheer SPF is safe for use around the eye area. If you have sensitive skin, we do recommend applying the SPF to a small test patch around the eyes to ensure that your skin can tolerate it well. Please reach out to us if you have any other questions!
Do I need to do a moisturizer before applying the sunscreen or does it act as a daily moisturizer along SPF?
Hi Erin! Thank you for your question. We recommend to apply a moisturizer like the Hydrating Lotion before your SPF. If you feel like the SPF provides enough hydration for your skin then you do not have to apply a moisturizer before hand. Please email hello@barefaced.com if you have any other questions.
Any tips on preventing dryness with this? I love it otherwise, but causes irritation and flakiness around mouth and chin.
Hi Kristen! Thank you for reaching out. For hydration we recommend to use the Hydrating Lotion morning and night. To boost the moisture in your skin you can mix the Hydrating Serum and Hydrating Lotion together. Please let us know if we can assist you further.
Does it wear well under makeup?
Yes, the Sheer SPF does wear well under makeup. We do recommend to wait until your skincare is completely dry before applying your SPF for a smooth finish.
Does this product contain propylene glycol ? I’m very allergic and sometimes it’s a hidden ingredient not obviously listed on the label.
