FAQs

Is this product considered pregnancy or nursing-friendly?

We recommend consulting your healthcare provider for any specific concerns.
What skin types is Barefaced SPF best for?

This sunscreen is ideal for normal, combination, and sensitive skin types. Because it’s mineral-based and free of fragrance, it’s gentle enough for post-procedure or reactive skin.

If you’re oily, it can double as your primer; if you’re dry, apply over a lightweight moisturizer for smoother blending.
Can I wear SPF with makeup?

Absolutely. It layers beautifully under foundation or tinted moisturizer and also gives a polished, even finish on its own.

If you’re wearing makeup, reapply with a powder or spray SPF to maintain protection throughout the day.
How do I apply my products?

We wrote you a blog post all about it! Check out How to Layer Your Skincare Products for more info.

Reviews

"There was no item inside the box that was delivered to me. I emailed the company to let them know that the address that was on the box is the same as it is on the account. Hopefully I do get my Tinted Protection SPF 50 like I should had."

— Carmen (1/5)

Not my favorite

"I’m a huge Barefaced fan, but this product is not it for me. I’ve tried it twice and both times it pills so bad for me. I don’t use too much product underneath and wait 20-30 after other products before applying. I prefer Revision intellishade. I love all the other BF products I have tried!"

— Libbie B. (3/5)

The best!

"I have used this daily for years and love it! It is lightly tinted and I use it as a base makeup."

— Tammy T. (5/5)

ON my second bottle

"While this last bottle seems a little darker than the first, I still love it! The finish is dewy on my 50 year old skin, I like the ingredients and it smells pleasant."

— Jennifer A. (5/5)

Sunscreen

"I wish it had a little bit more color in the formula"

— Jayne c. (5/5)

Can’t stop buying it!

"I use tinted spf everyday! It’s protected my skin all summer and has a very light and even tint that helps my light colored skin glow a bit! I will always restock on this product!"

— Colleen G. (5/5)

My fave tinted sunscreen

"My fave tinted sunscreen! Goes on light, works well, layers well under makeup or works well on its own."

— Christina G. (5/5)

Must add to your routine!

"Barefaced has transformed my skin so now tinted SPF is all I need to put on before leaving the house. Definitely add this to your daily routine."

Best tinted sunscreen ever!!!

Great tinted moisturizer!

"This is a great tinted moisturizer! It does a slight smell when you first apply it, but it goes away quickly and it wears SO well."

Q&A

Is this safe for acne prone skin?
Hi Paige! Our Tinted Protection SPF 50+ was designed for acne-prone skin. It's oil-free and contains ingredients such as lactic acid which increases cellular turnover (minimizes breakouts) and niacinamide which contains anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness caused by acne and can also help prevent breakouts. With that being said, everyone's skin can react differently to certain ingredients and products. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us at hello@barefaced.com and we would be happy to help!
Is the tunt pritectuon product good for all ski.n tones, both light and dark
Hi Lisa, Yes, our Tinted SPF is a universal tint that is suitable for all skin types. Please feel free to reach out to us at hello@barefaced.com with any additional questions, we're happy to help!
Are their benefits in the Tinted Moisturizer for mature skin?
Hi Tabatha! Thanks for reaching out! Yes there are! Tinted SPF shields against UVA + UVB rays, which are the #1 cause of premature aging. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions!
Hi - I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now and every time I put it on I experience severe burning in my eyes. I am avoiding my eye area when I apply the product so it isn’t from just getting it in my eyes accidentally. Is this normal?
Hi Alex! Thank you for reaching out. Yes, sunscreen can burn the eyes when contact is made. We recommend to wash your hands after application. Please email hello@barefaced.com for additional questions.
could I use this as a moisturizer?
Hi Jennie! Thank you for reaching out to us! Many skin types find Tinted Protection to be moisturizing as it has additional hydrating ingredients in it, but some skin types need an additional moisturizer underneath for added hydration. We recommend applying a moisturizer and then letting that fully dry before applying Tinted Protection. There is caffeine in Tinted Protection which can make the skin feel a little tight initially. Please feel free to reach out to us at hello@barefaced.com with any additional questions, we're happy to help!
